Michele + Yuan Kai : Spring Meadows | Glasshouse Seputeh

Spring meadows for Michele and Yuan Kai.

The rambling beauty of wild blooming meadows reimagined in this lush glasshouse backdrop. A refreshing palette of yellows, greens, whites and a hint of blush pink. We went with a winding aisle to mimic natural walking paths and to add dimension to the space.

One of the elements we loved most were the signages. Designed by Michele herself, their wedding stationery echoed a clean minimalist vibe which was very much their style! The pre-wed photo display, printed on fabric canvases in black-and-white, were custom-ordered and shipped from overseas. Production took us some time but we were glad it arrived on-time for the big day.

The minimalist aesthetic was most apparent with their photo backdrop. It was a first for us – no wordings, no couple’s monogram, just a blank white canvas. We absolutely loved it. It pushed the attention back to the guests (which was what a photo backdrop was meant for!), and the flowers stood out even more against a crisp background.

We meticulously selected close to 50 different types of flowers and foliages for this wedding. Out of the 50, 16 types were used solely on the tablescape, consisting of a variety of fresh flowers and mosses for an immersive “garden party” experience. It was quite a new experience for us as well, as the process of selecting, pairing and ordering specific flowers were more challenging and tedious than we initially thought. We had to double check what was in season, decide on the quantity, create lookbooks to figure out the arrangements for each section … and it all paid off beautifully in the end!
