YC + Wei Na : Korean Minimalist Wedding | Courtyard by Marriott Melaka

YC and Wei Na’s wedding presented a lot of “firsts” for the team! The occasion was on a larger scale which required multiple custom-built structures and special arrangements to pull off. We penned down some of the notable details from this stunning Melaka affair:

THEME – We carefully handpicked designs and props that would fit the Korean Minimalistic wedding aesthetic. Working closely with YC and Wei Na, we went through thorough revisions on every detail of their decor, from backdrop design and positions/layouts, to fabric selections and floral combinations, even the walkway lighting! All to ensure that we nail the look that they had in mind, down to the smallest detail!

FLORALS – YC and Wei Na specially requested the types of flowers they wanted for their wedding and we specially sourced them to create the look. We blended artificial and fresh to give the floralscape some diversity, all while maintaining a similar vibe and style! With the exception of the couple’s bridal car decor and Wei Na’s all-white bridal bouquet which comprises only fresh blooms.

PHOTO GALLERY – Instead of the usual photo corner, this photo display was designed as a path leading up to the backdrop, with panels tilted to an angle to give a visual depth.

LETTER WALL – We designed the guest interaction corner in hopes of further elevating the overall wedding experience! Guests were able to leave their wishes and blessings for the couple in exchange for a red rose, how romantic is that! Complete with a letter box and adorable instructions, it was both a meaningful and visually stimulating decor piece that sprinkled some extra magic to the occasion!

WALKWAY – A key point for Korean weddings is the elevated walkway platform spanning across a bridal hall. We recreated that by building a T-platform raised from the ground, with every inch on both sides covered in abundant blooms, and fully carpeted in white for a touch of elegance and romance! Not forgetting the towering gazebo with cascading florals to start of the walkway!

MAIN TABLE – We went with a high rounded floral centerpiece combined with a cascading design, in addition to the metallic gold ornaments and surrounding candlelight that exuded a touch of glam!

CHALLENGES – The team was only allowed to set up the night before and could only utilize ⅓ of the ballroom as the remaining hall space was occupied for functions on the day of. This put us on a REALLY tight schedule for a setup on this scale. A total of 15 crew members traveled from KL and worked tirelessly through the night and the following day. We tackled the bigger structural components first, then brought in our florists the next morning to work on the floral arrangements. Overall, it was a great success!
