Liyana + Carlos : Starry Starry Night | EQ Kuala Lumpur

Picking up right where we left off … (check out Part 1 in our previous blog – The Rumah Tangsi Reception!)

We’re back with Part 2 of Liyana and Carlos’s celebration – this time at Equatorial Plaza Hotel, commonly known as EQ Kuala Lumpur. This reception was more intimate compared to their Rumah Tangsi affair. A dinner that featured only their closest friends and relatives, many of whom have traveled from abroad to be there for the couple.

A “moon-lit dinner under starry skies” was what we were going for. We crafted a 3D moonlit backdrop to further accentuate the theme, and loved how realistic it turned out in photos! We put more focus on the details this time around to highlight the elegance and luxe of this affair. Some notable points were the shimmering star-shaped confetti for the place cards, a semi-transparent black acrylic guest seating chart, and a mirror welcome signage.

Liyana and Carlos specially requested for “more greens and lesser florals” this time around for a change of scenery, hence the table centerpieces and couple chairs were adorned in foliage and fairy lights for that classy finish. An organic botanical theme that perfectly reflected the pair’s personalities!

We wrapped up our time with the couple with this final reception. It has truly been an honor for us to be entrusted with ALL their celebrations. We’ve styled a total of 4 occasions for them – 3 different concepts, 3 different venues, over the course of the past 3 years. We’ve collaborated over long-distance (they’re based in Singapore!), and have navigated the treacherous path of “pandemic wedding planning” together. To say that it has been one great big adventure is an understatement! We’ve enjoyed every moment creating with the pair and we wish them nothing but a lifetime of happiness together.
