Nabila and Rizal’s celebration of love was truly an intimate one!
We transformed their living room into the perfect stage for a solemnization. Rather than turning their home into something entirely different, we decided to keep their existing cozy Balinese interior and add only a tropical spin to it to elevate the ambience! A homage to her grandmother, we incorporated batik pieces that Nabila inherited from her grandmother into the layered batik backdrop for the pelamin. Keeping the memory of her grandmother close to her on such a special day!
The center of the nikah setup was a contemporary wooden pelamin surrounded by lush green foliages, handmade rattan lanterns and striking red heliconia blooms. Sticking to the tropical theme, we decorated the dulang hantaran with beautiful white orchids and styled the tablescape with local fruits in dainty rattan baskets! Edible decor that fitted perfectly into their intimate luncheon right after the ceremony.
Their reception took us to Escape 23, a private bungalow located in a quiet neighborhood in Bukit Damansara. A venue that was no stranger to us as we’ve previously done a styled shoot here, and were pretty excited to be back this time around styling an actual wedding! We respected the couple’s wishes to keep to a minimalist design, maintaining a low-waste, budget-friendly celebration. We went with ‘nature’ as its theme, which perfectly complemented the scenic city greenery that unfolded from the venue’s dining hall.
From the tablescape to the door gifts, decor was centered around the guest experience. A variety of potted plants lined rows of wooden viking tables, forming a mini garden right in the heart of the night’s festivities. Wooden crates, bird cages, block candles and greenage for a rustic dessert table, individual place cards for each succulent door gift, candle-lit stairwell for a romantic entrance, and a non-floral bridal bouquet for the bride – the little details that matter.
