We’re deep into this autumnal wedding season!
Hosting an intimate group of only their closest friends and family, Hong Sheng and Sin Pei celebrated their love with a ceremony + lunch reception at The Chateau Spa and Wellness Resort Bukit Tinggi.
The couple’s morning ceremony was held outdoors against a stunning backdrop of the castle’s terracotta brick exterior. We sampled the surrounding colour palette and went with a BOHO MEETS FALL design – dreamy wildflower-style arrangements, mix-matched decor (assorted lanterns and vintage rugs), earthy elements, and rich warm tones. The house-shaped double arches were a special request by Hong Sheng and Sin Pei as they wanted it to symbolize the coming together of two people in love, being a home for each other, and building a future together. It added so much more depth to the design and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Another unique feature of this celebration was the Unity Sand Ceremony, but with a twist! We thought long and hard for a decorative element that was both interactive and repurposable as a keepsake to commemorate this special day. Displayed alongside the photo corner, we set up a custom-made wooden frame with eye-catching little tubes of coloured sand. Guests were asked to fill the frame by mixing in the colours, which also signifies their outpour of love and blessings for the newlyweds. With the frame ¾ filled, the newlyweds then completed it by pouring in their respective parts during the ceremony. It was “a union of two, along with their loved ones”. And the best part, they now have it as part of their home decor!
Their luncheon venue, a restaurant on resort grounds, featured these floor-to-ceiling arched windows that beautifully reflected natural light. In order to harmonize with the light and airy vibes of the space, we brought the lighter tones of the fall palette to the forefront. With the larger items like linens and table runners in soft creams and muted blush, while smaller pieces like the table signages and florals kept its rich tones of burnt orange and terracotta.
All in all, we just love a design that’s true to our lovers! Having Hong Sheng and Sin Pei’s input in their decor gave it deeper meaning and layers, which made this far from just another fall boho wedding for us.
